Devotees visiting the famous Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan will have to follow a new restriction while offering prayers. The temple's high-powered management committee has banned the practice of throwing pedas, flower garlands and tulsi malas towards the deity, citing concerns over cleanliness and the treatment of sacred offerings.
The decision was taken at a committee meeting chaired by Justice Ashok Kumar on Wednesday evening. Notices explaining the restriction will be put up at the temple entrances and outside the premises, according to officials cited by The Times of India .
