A whopping 11,000 customers opened a bank account in AIB in the span of a record-breaking week as Ulster Bank and KBC are set to withdraw from the Irish banking market.
A staggering 122% increase in new account openings was reported in the last week of May compared to the same time last year.
So far this year, customers have opened around 160,000 accounts with AIB compared with approximately 99,000 in 2021.
