If you find that your work gets on top of you from time to time, you are sure to enjoy Bank Holiday Mondays when they roll around a handful of times a year.
In those stakes, we trump the UK as there are ten recognised Bank Holiday dates in Ireland compared to just eight for our neighbours.
The frequency with which they fall in Ireland often causes confusion though.

For example, we have a Bank Holiday in April (if Easter falls), May, June and August - but not in July.
There's grim news for you all if you think there's one coming at the end of August- there's only three Bank Holidays left in 2022 and none til October.
Bank Holiday Dates Ireland 2022
We've got:
- Monday, October 31 (Halloween/October Bank Holiday)
- Sunday, December 25 (Christmas Day)
- Monday, December 26 (St Stephen's Day)
Contrary to popular belief, New Year's Eve is not a public holiday.
2022 was unique for having a 'double' public holiday in March.
The extra day off was introduced this year as a tribute to health workers and to remember those who died with Covid.
It won't be a part of the 2023 public holiday calendar - though a new permanent Bank Holiday will fall on St Brigid's Day or the date of the nearest Monday to February 1.
A campaign backed by the Women's Parliamentary Caucus, the Green Party, Joe Duffy and Imelda May saw thousands of people sign an online petition for the new bank holiday to be held on the first day of spring.
That was confirmed by the Tánaiste Leo Varadkar in the spring.
