A number of bands and artists were told they would be playing at Liverpool Sound City before a "heartbreaking" announcement.
Acts who wanted to be selected to perform at the music festival in April did so by applying through the "apply to play" service on the Sound City website. This was handled by platform Amplead who would then announce the successful applicants.
The company then made the "mistake" of telling everyone who had applied they were successful, when in fact many were not. A number of artists took to Twitter to share their frustration after receiving both a successful and an unsuccessful email from Amplead.
