Ban on plastic wet wipes could be imposed under government's plans for cleaner water

The Conservative Government has outlined a new plan to allow a clean and plentiful supply of water in the future to be ensured.

Through its new Plan for Water, officials want to see more investment from water companies across the UK, as well as stronger regulation and tougher enforcement on those who pollute the supplies.

The move also includes a consultation on the barring of plastic in wet wipes, as well as restrictions on per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) found in firefighers' foam, textiles, cleaning products, paints and varnishes - reports the PA News Agency.
