Baseball can be a very beautiful game.
If you need any more proof of that then you need to see the slide that Baltimore Orioles second baseman Rougned Odor did Tuesday night to avoid a tag that should have been a very easy out for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Odor hit what looked like would be a single in the bottom of the eighth inning. But he decided to go for two and for a while that looked like a very bad idea. Even the announcer thought Odor would be out by 30 feet.
But Odor did not get out. Instead, he pulled off one of the greatest slides you’ll ever see to avoid the tag and be safe at second.

I love how shocked the announcer was by that move because I felt the same way. And then at the end Odor was able to hang on to the bag to avoid being tagged out, which would have been a huge bummer after pulling off that move (the ump’s feet might have helped, but whatever).
Twitter was in awe.
Still have no clue how he missed this tag https://t.co/XGHBHmQZvz
