Belfast-based Impro Printing has been bought by a Ballymena peer for an undisclosed sum.
The purchase by Aaron Klewchuk, the owner of commercial printers Ballyprint and wedding stationary provider Perfect Day Print, was made in a pre-liquidation deal and will add to the combined business’s offering, he said.
Mr Klewchuk plans to invest £250,000 in new stitching and binding machinery for the business and has made two senior appointments. Kirk Dominy, one of Impro’s longest-serving employees, has been appointed as the Operations Director, and Gavin Leitch has been recruited as the new Sales Director.
In a release announcing the purchase, the business said Impro, which supplies printing services to banking, legal, hospitality and other sectors, was hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. It said the purchase will “help restore Impro Printing to its pre-pandemic levels, securing its future and that of its employees.”
Alan Klewchuk said he plans to build on Impro’s legacy.
“I was extremely pleased to be able to purchase Impro Printing. I’d been looking for some time to extend my business portfolio and the timing was right as this is a company with an excellent reputation in the printing world.
“This is also a great opportunity to build on this company’s legacy of some 40 years in business and grow it alongside the other companies.”
“2023 has got off to a good start – there is much work to do but I’m very much looking forward to working with the team at Impro Printing and our customers.”
