Ballot registrations for blocks in one of Canberra's newest suburbs are set to close the day following the ACT election.
There are 28 blocks available in Macnamara, a suburb of Ginninderry, on which buyers will be able to design and construct their perfect home.
Prices - and sizes - of blocks vary from $352,200 to $559,000.
The average block size on offer is 390 square metres and sits close to a planned park, community centre and first primary school in the area.
A number of blocks in the area have already come up for grabs this year, including a 1.9-hectare block dedicated for a community facility.
This is the first time land in Macnamara has been sold via ballot.
Ginninderry's development director Stephen Harding said the area had "growing appeal" for those wanting to live in northern Canberra.
The area is marketed as Canberra's "most sustainable community" and offers a place to call home close to the NSW border.
Walking tracks, large park areas and an ecological corridor have been drawcards for residents so far.
A ballot release was a way to give more people a chance at entering the community, he said.
"We're excited to continue building a community that offers more than just a place to live. Macnamara is designed for people who value open space, sustainability, and connection," Mr Harding said.
Ballot registrations close on October 20.
Draw numbers will be announced on November 1 and block selection sessions will take place on November 16.
The land is expected to be ready for settlement between July and December next year, at which time buyers will be able to begin construction.
There will be 30,000 residents across four suburbs in Ginninderry once complete.
Macnamara, which sits 13 minutes from the Belconnen town centre, is the second suburb being released.
Construction on stage one and two of the suburb of Strathnairn is nearing completion and about 2500 residents now call the suburb home.
Ginninderry is being delivered as a joint venture between the Suburban Land Agency and Riverview Developments.
