In comparison to the rest of the deals done in the Championship so far, Bristol City arguably have enjoyed the best of the business.
Although early days, the three new arrivals in Mark Sykes, Kal Naismith and Kane Wilson mean the Robins have moved quickly to ensure preparations are ahead of schedule as we approach the pre-season and the new season.
Cash restraints mean clubs will have to be extra cautious where their money goes this summer and many will rely on expenditure before being able to open cheque books of their own.
Many free agents are still weighing up their futures as they wait patiently for all the best offers on the table before making a final decision.
Here are the top rumours circling around the Championship...
Preston and Stoke want Scottish defender
The Championship pair are ready to take a relatively risk-free punt on Dunfermline's central defender Josh Edwards, according to Football Insider.
The Scottish side are open to selling him this summer as he approaches the final year of his contract. Dunfermline have reportedly asked for £100,000 to let him join the Championship duo.
Edwards was a key figure for the club last season, playing in 25 of their 27 league matches. At the age of 22, he is eyed as one that could be more of a long-term project.
Bale back on the agenda
It seems the Welshman continues to tease those Cardiff fans across the border having refused to rule out a move to his former club.
He's a free agent after leaving Real Madrid and remains coy over his next club although there will undoubtedly be a whole host of sides across Europe looking to snap him up.
When asked about his next move, he said: "I don't really know if the standard makes too much of a difference. A football game is a football game." When specifically asked about Cardiff, he added: "I can't really say."
Three Championship clubs battle for Vaulks
QPR, Stoke and Luton are all in the market for freebie Will Vaulks who is set to leave Cardiff at the end of his contract, according to reports.
The centre midfielder is also wanted by Sheffield Wednesday but it is thought the player would prefer to continue playing in the Championship.
Vaulks, 28, featured in 36 league games for the Bluebirds last season. Huddersfield were also supposedly looking into him as they prioritised signing a midfielder but Yorkshire Live say he is not under consideration.
Former Rovers loanee wanted in the Championship
Elliot Anderson tore League Two to shreds during his loan spell with rivals Bristol Rovers last season and now appears set to make the step up to the Championship.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has already said how he plans to keep an eye on him in pre-season but the likelihood is that Anderson will head out temporarily to get a full season of matches under his belt.
Reports in Northern Echo say Stoke are one of many clubs "to have made contact with Newcastle officials". Reading, West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday have also thrown their hats in the ring for his signature.
