About five months ago, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson wanted nothing to do with potentially welcoming quarterback Baker Mayfield to his team. Now, they might be best friends.
With the Panthers down 23-14 late in the fourth quarter and gasping for air, Mayfield hit for Anderson for an absolute bomb of a touchdown pass. The 75-yard connection, which came on the very first play of that particular drive, cut the Cleveland Browns’ lead to just three points with about six minutes remaining.

Anderson and Mayfield hooked up for four receptions prior to the big play. But none of which, obviously, were as clutch as this one.
To that point, Anderson had recorded a team-high 102 yards on his five grabs. The seventh-year veteran did not have a single game of over 84 receiving yards in 2021.
Mayfield, who had an absymal first three quarters in his “revenge game” against his former team, completed 13 of his 24 throws for 191 yards along with a 7-yard touchdown run.
