Bailey Zappe Filled in for Mac Jones on Patriots' Final Drive And Was Pretty Much the Same

The Patriots’ offensive struggles this season continued into the team’s Week 10 game against the Colts in Frankfurt. And after a brutal first three-plus quarters for quarterback Mac Jones, New England opted to make the change to backup signal-caller Bailey Zappe.

This move came with the Patriots down just 10-6 after Jones threw an interception with 4:24 remaining in the fourth quarter. So this meant Zappe entered with just under two minutes to go and a chance to play the role of saving grace.

But following a few completions, Zappe's day ended in a similar fashion to his counterpart's, as the backup quarterback threw an interception with 36 seconds remaining.

Not great. The play did, unfortunately, sum up how the day went for the Patriots, though. Jones finished with 170 yards while completing 15-of-20 attempts and tossing one interception, while Zappe went 3-of-7 for 25 yards and one interception as well.
