Bailey Wright has reiterated his thanks to the staff and supporters at Sunderland after his three-and-a-half-year tenure came to an end yesterday evening. The Australian international parts ways with the club by mutual consent in order to pursue an opportunity overseas.
Wright made 107 appearances in a red and white shirt and was part of the Black Cats side that won promotion back to the Championship in 2022. A lack of game time meant the 30-year-old spent last season on loan with Championship side Rotherham United and had been linked with a move back to the Millers this summer, but his future appears to lie elsewhere.
Taking to Instagram, Wright said: "G'day, G'day, G'day! Where do I start.
