Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held talks on Tuesday with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

They discussed bilateral ties and means of developing them in all fields to advance sustainable development efforts and meet the aspirations of both peoples for progress and prosperity.

The meeting also touched on various regional and international issues of common interest, as well as the latest developments in the Gulf and Arab states, especially the terrorist attacks on facilities in Abu Dhabi by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militias.

King Hamad expressed Bahrain’s condemnation of the attacks, underlining its support for the UAE against all threats to its sovereignty, security and stability.

He reaffirmed the Kingdom’s solidarity with the UAE, backing all the measures authorities are taking to protect its citizens and residents.

The security of the UAE and Bahrain are indivisible, King Hamad affirmed, noting that any threat or danger facing the UAE is considered by Bahrain as a threat to its security and stability, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

He underscored the support expressed by many world countries for the UAE, which reflects its prominent status in the world.

King Hamad further hailed the successful efforts of the Emirati diplomacy, which resulted in a unanimous condemnation by the UN Security Council of the “heinous terrorist attacks” on Abu Dhabi.

Council members “underlined the need to hold perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice.”

They affirmed the UAE’s legal right to defend its sovereignty and maintain its security, stability and interests and considered the attack an escalation threatening regional peace and security.
