Social media sleuths have uncovered additional details and a pastor has weighed in just days after a real-life couple got married during Bad Bunny’s 2026 Super Bowl halftime show.

ICYMI, the pair’s nuptials played out in various sequences — including a proposal, cake-cutting scene and a first kiss — live in the Super Bowl arena during the celeb-filled set, as millions of people, including halftime guest Lady Gaga, looked on across the world.

We later learned via Bad Bunny’s reps that the ceremony was legit, and came about after the couple asked him to perform at their wedding but offered them the halftime show opportunity instead.

While the identity of the couple remained unknown for some time, a bit of social media investigation has turned up a few details about Eleisa “Elli” Aparicio and Thomas “Tommy” Wolter, including their love story.

A social media post shared by Wolter revealed he became a registered nurse in 2021 and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from California State University soon after, per The Guardian.

Elsewhere, a school district’s Facebook post uncovered that Aparicio was a graduate of Covina high school, with her former basketball coach telling the San Gabriel Valley Tribune that she represented the school’s basketball team for at least three seasons.

Crumbs of intel about the pair’s romance were also retraced. Aparicio and Wolter celebrated their one-year anniversary of dating back in 2024, with Aparicio writing on Instagram that “this past year has been so full of happiness, love, laughter, and growth”.

Later that year, the couple took to Instagram to announce their engagement. “Words can never express how much I love this woman,” Wolter wrote alongside a carousel of engagement snaps, while Aparicio said she would “say yes a million times more”.

The pair then invited Bad Bunny to perform at their wedding, but he did them one better by offering them a place to be legally wed his halftime set.

“An unforgettable dance with the love of my life,” the pair wrote in a joint IG post after their Super Bowl wedding.

As for who did the officiating, well, we now have deets about him, too. Sacramento pastor Antonio Reyes lifted the lid on his role in the ceremony during an interview earlier this week, revealing it was Becky G — who appeared during Bad Bunny’s set — who first got into contact with him to organise the nuptials.

“They called me and said, ‘Hey, this couple wants to get married. We don’t know if he’s a celebrity,” Reyes said. “We don’t know what it’s for. Are you open?”

Reyes said he wasn’t aware of the Super Bowl plans until he received a non-disclosure agreement, restricted him from telling his congregation about the plans. “It was very difficult not to be able to share this joy with people,” he said.

Reyes revealed that he was tasked with making the nuptials “as official as possible”, and said he was honoured to be “part of such a monumental moment”.

Bad Bunny’s set came after a flurry of controversy over his headliner status, but he proved the naysayers wrong with a performance centred on unity and love.
