Bad Bunny announces 15-city US stadium tour. Here are all the dates

SAN DIEGO — San Diego’s Petco Park has hosted concerts by everyone from the Rolling Stones, Metallica and Taylor Swift to Billy Joel, Madonna and Green Day, but never by a reggaeton or Latin trap music artist.

That will change on Sept. 17 when Puerto Rican-bred superstar Bad Bunny headlines at the stadium, the home of the San Diego Padres.

The concert here, which will feature an opening set by Alesso, is one of 15 U.S. stadium shows the 27-year-old San Juan native will perform as part of what is being billed as “Summer’s Hottest Tour.” Alesso and Diplo will alternate as opening acts.

Intriguingly, Bad Bunny’s summer tour will come just months after his 25-city “El Último Tour del Mundo 2022,” which includes a nearly sold-out Feb. 23 concert at San Diego’s Pechanga Arena. This makes him the first artist in memory to headline an arena and stadium show here in the same year, let alone within barely seven months.

Tickets for Bad Bunny’s new “Summer’s Hottest Tour” go on sale to the general public on Friday. The tour opens Aug. 5 in Florida at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, and concludes Feb. 30 in Los Angeles at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium.

Other cities on the itinerary, which appears in full later in this article, include Atlanta, Boston, New York, Houston, Oakland, Las Vegas and Washington, D.C.

Bad Bunny (real name: Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) is 2021 and 2020’s most-streamed artist in the world on Spotify, topping Taylor Swift, the K-pop juggernaut BTS, Drake and Justin Bieber.

The more than 9.1 billion streams his songs received last year are all the more notable considering that, unlike Swift, BTS, Drake and Bieber, he did not put an album in 2021. Even so, three of his previous releases “El Último Tour Del Mundo,” “Yhlqmdlg” and “X 100pre” were, respectively, the world’s No. 1, No. 2. and No. 4 bestselling Latin music albums of 2021.

Tickets for Bad Bunny’s “World’s Hottest Tour” go on sale to the general public at noon Friday and are priced from $55 to $496 each, plus service fees. They will be available online only through ticketmaster.com and there will be an eight ticket per customer limit. Tickets will not be sold at the Petco Park box office.

There will be two presales through Ticketmaster. The first, for Padres season ticket-holders and Live Nation registered users, is Thursday from noon to 10 p.m. The second, for Padres registered users, is Thursday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Limited Padres premium suite seating will be available through padres/com/concerts. Those prices have not been announced yet.
