Nine seasons since playing their first match in front of a lock-out crowd, Carlton and Collingwood's inaugural AFLW stars hope the return of the high-profile opener can help take the game forward.

The Blues and Magpies will kick off the 10th season at Ikon Park on Thursday night, with inaugural Carlton star Darcy Vescio and Collingwood midfielder Brit Bonnici among those reliving that first night in 2017.
