Harry Potter fans will be excited to learn that the Wizarding World’s much-loved Back to Hogwarts celebrations is returning to London’s King’s Cross Station for a multi-day live event and exhibition next month.
From Thursday September 1-4, fans can enjoy a host of fun performances, exciting photo opportunities and a thrilling live countdown.
The Back to Hogwarts event comes 25 years after J.K. Rowling introduced the Harry Potter series and starts at 9:00am to 5:00pm each day.
During the celebrations, there will be a live countdown marking the 11:00am start time the Hogwarts Express departed Platform Nine and Three Quarters for the start of the academic year at the famous School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Since the first Harry Potter book release, the franchise has sold over 600 million copies worldwide, with over 80 language translations and was brought to life on screen in eight global hit blockbuster films.
Back to Hogwarts has grown in the same way, having quickly become an event globally enjoyed by fans of all ages as they celebrate the Wizarding World and this year, there are several ways attendees can get involved with the event, in-person and digitally.
The morning of launch day, fans can enjoy the Special Wand Combat workshops led by Paul Harris, the Wand Choreographer from the Harry Potter films, as he teaches members how to ward off Death Eaters and perfect their best Defence Against the Dark Arts stance.
Visitors will also be treated to a live performance from the West End cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, as they perform a special version of the popular ‘wand dance’ as seen in the award-winning play.
Fans can make memories of their trip as they take selfies with giant-scale book replicas of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (featuring Thomas Taylor’s original 1997 cover art), and can pose for photos with LEGO® Harry Potter big builds of the Hogwarts Sorting Hat and Mr Weasley’s blue Ford Anglia.
Wizarding enthusiasts can also see themselves sitting in the very carriage Harry, Ron and Hermione sat in as they go in the Hogwarts express video booth.
Those who can’t make the event won’t be missing out, as Back to Hogwarts will be livestreamed on Tik Tok with Draco Malfoy actor himself, Tom Felton, presenting.
