A theatre has been criticised for including trigger warnings on its production of The Sound Of Music, reported the Daily Star. Chichester Festival Theatre told ticket buyers that the play includes “the threat of Nazi Germany and the annexation of Austria” and that some viewers “may find certain themes distressing”. However, Rabbi Jonathan Romain, of Maidenhead Synagogue, dismissed the warnings as “incredibly patronising” and a “disservice” to audiences. A theatre spokesman said: “We’re giving honest and factual guidance.”
