The harrowing details of the death of a baby who ingested methadone and was exposed to both cocaine and heroin have been revealed. Jackson Curtis was found unresponsive after swallowing the heroin-substitute at his family home on Tranter Road, Saltersgill on April 29, 2017.
The one-year-old was rushed to James Cook University Hospital, but despite more than an hour of life-saving efforts by medics, he sadly passed away less than six hours later.
According to Teesside Live, his parents Anne-Marie Howell and Andrew were arrested over the tot's death and brought before a court on manslaughter charges. However, the case was dropped in December 2018 after it was ruled that the baby's death could equally have been caused by naturally occurring bronchopneumonia, as from potentially lethal quantities of methadone.
