DIY retailer B&Q has launched a Christmas decoration that lights up your room - without using mains electricity.

Their new floating candle wall-mounted LEDs are battery operated - so won’t cost a fortune to run.
Shoppers can pick up a pack of 10 floating candles for £14 , with each requiring one AAA battery. The warm white lighting give a cosy look to your home at Christmas or all year round, should you choose to leave them up.

They can be hung on your Christmas tree or from a window, creating a magic effect.
Already proving popular on TikTok, the hashtag #floatingcandles has already amassed 73.8million views, with many content creators having demonstrated how magical they look when you’ve settled down for the evening with a mulled wine.
As the lights are battery powered you are not limited by needing access to an electricity source, so you can place these string lights anywhere inside your home, using the remote control to switch them on and off.
