B&M's £1.25 dupe of Prime energy drink compared to original from KSI and Logan Paul

Fans of YouTube stars KSI and Logan Paul have been in a frenzy in recent weeks over the launch of the pair's new Prime energy drink - but B&M have now brought out a cheaper dupe that looks almost identical.

Selling at £1.99, Prime has flown off the shelves time after time since it was introduced to UK stores back in October and has even been listed on eBay for thousands of times its usual retail price as desperate fans scramble to get their hands on the drink. But now high street favourites B&M appear to have made the most of its popularity and introduced their own brand of energy drink that looks very similar.

B&M's Body Fuel is made by Applied Nutrition, endorsed by former featherweight champion Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett - but how does it measure up to Prime? The Liverpool Echo put the dupe to the test - here's the verdict based on design, price, availability and, most importantly, taste.

First off, the two bottles look very similar in design, with both sporting their large black logos against bright neon green backgrounds which certainly stand out on the shelves. Body Fuel is priced at £1.25, 75p cheaper than its rival - assuming that you buy it at retail price and don't end up forking out far more due to the high demand for Prime.

Body Fuel was much easier to get hold of than Prime, which is known for quickly selling out in stores much to the disappointment of fans - so if you're struggling to pick up a bottle, B&M's dupe could be much more straightforward a find. Both were available in lemon lime flavour - in the taste test, however, the drinks tasted quite different from one another.

"Body Fuel tastes a looks and tastes a lot like lemonade, which is no bad thing," said the Liverpool Echo reviewer. "By contrast, Prime has a citrusy flavour which leaves a distinctive - and in our view, unpleasant - aftertaste."

The overall verdict? "Body Fuel is our preferred flavour," the reporter declared. "Its standard flavour is a lot more agreeable than Prime's twist." So if you found Prime to be a let-down, you may just be better off heading to B&M.
