B&M makes major change to website as it scraps popular online service

B&M has announced a major change to its website and it won't come as good news to those who love shopping from the comforts of their home.

The discounter has quietly scrapped its home delivery service from its website just less than a year after it offered a trial period for the service.

The budget retailer officially trialled the service for the first time on its website back in June 2022 where it was available for bulkier products that shoppers would struggle to take home. Items available for delivery included indoor and outdoor furniture, electricals and kids toys.

It was the first time in the retailer's history that it had included the delivery service that was welcomed by fans who could previously only browse products online.

However, it looks like the retailer has scrapped the service from its website altogether, as Retail Week reported that it had been taken down in February this year.

When we looked on the B&M website, we noticed that it no longer features the option for customers, meaning they can only browse products before popping into store.

Any item that was previously available for being delivered to your door was marked with an orange van logo next to it, and this symbol seems to have disappeared from the website.

The retailer previously charged shoppers for the service, with regular delivery costing £3.95, medium delivery costing £7.95 and larger delivery costing £14.95. Items usually arrived within the standard 3-5 working days.

There is still a home delivery service for B&M's separate Garden Buildings website that will let deliver larger garden items such as decking, sheds, logstores and more.

B&M are not the only retailer to make changes to its online operations, after Aldi revealed it would be phasing out its online home deliveries on Specialbuys and cheap wine cases this year.

The Daily Record has contacted B&M for a comment.
