Retail giant B&M has issued an urgent product recall for one of its toys. The baby toy poses a possible 'choking risk' to young children.
The My First Ball toy presents a risk of choking as tags on the ball can become detached, causing damage to the seams. This means children can access the insides of the toy, reports the Echo.
There is a small ball-shaped rattle inside the toy, which fits within the small parts of the cylinder. B&M said it was brought to its attention that a baby could put the small part into their mouth and choke, therefore the product was recalled.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards said: "The product presents a risk of choking as the tags on the ball detached causing damage to the seams, giving access to the inside of the toy. Inside the toy there is a small ball shaped rattle which fits within the truncated cylinder. A young infant may put the small part into their mouth and choke.
"The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011."
B&M said as a "precautionary measure" it is advising that customers return the item to their local store for a full refund. It said: "It has been brought to our attention that there may be a potential hazard with the above toy. As a precautionary measure we are advising that customers return this item to their local store for a full refund."
