HYDERABAD: Justice (retd) Nisar Ahmad Kakru has put an end to the confusion in the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) by ruling that Mohd Azharuddin’s term as president had ended on 30 September 2022.
"...but because his term of 3 years envisaged by sub rule (2) of rule 6 of the memorandum of association rules and regulations 2018 has admittedly expired in September 2022. Thus, Mohammed Azharuddin has become functus officio... It goes without saying Mohammed Azharuddin is not being denied his continuation as president for wrongdoing but in compliance with the rules of the game," Justice Kakru said in a 21-page letter sent to his three colleagues of the Supervisory Committee ahead of their meeting on Saturday.
