Ayrshire taxi drivers host fundraiser after colleague loses son

Employees at Irvine TOA have raised £595 for Samaritans after a highly competitive beat-the-goalie event at the Circuit in Irvine.

Drivers decided to raise the sum to aid the emotional support charity in honour of their colleague who supports the cause following the death of his son.

All funds were raised in-house as drivers took their chance at trying to beat 'super goalie' Kevin Flaherty.

Driver Rob Guidi said: "You wouldn't think it to look at him but Kevin is known as the super goalie because he has an obsession with beating everyone.

"He did an amazing job, really impressive.

"All the money was raised in-house and we're super proud to have raised so much towards such a worthy cause.

"One of our colleagues lost his son a couple of years ago and we wanted to help him contribute to the charity of his choice.

"I want to say a huge thank you to everyone at KA Leisure who let us use the facilities

"And a huge thank you to everyone who donated."
