Fans of vintage transport and vehicles from a bygone era are in for a treat next month when the Ayrshire Roadrun returns.
The annual procession of vintage commercial trucks, tractors, buses and more will be on the road and heading though the region on Saturday, July 8.
And you can get up close to these amazing vehicles as they’ll be on display at the Barony Campus in Cumnock before the convoy sets off.
There will be a static display at the school car park from 9am until 12noon on Saturday, July 8.
The convoy will then set off and you can see them on the road at the following times and destinations: Auchinleck (Sorn Road) 12.05pm, Sorn 12.10pm, Muirkirk 12.25pm, Douglas 12.35pm, Abington 12.55pm, Crawford 1.15pm, Elvanfoot 1.45pm, Carronbridge 2.15pm, Thornhill 2.20pm, Penpont 2.30pm, Moniaive 2.45pm, St John’s Town Dalry 3pm, New Galloway 3.10pm, Newton Stewart 3.40pm, Dunragit 4pm.
The above times are approximate and are based on the first truck, although the last one could be one hour behind.
Some will stop for a snack, or to take in the beautiful views of the countryside.
When the convoy reaches Portpatrick, there will be time for fans to see the vehicles parked up for the night and until the following morning at Galloway Point Caravan Park and the Main Harbour.
Then on Sunday, July 9, the group will leave at 11am, heading on towards Dunragit, the A75, turning right onto Coast Road to Port William, turning right to Whithorn, then Bladnoch, Newton Stewart and then some country roads before journeying back into Ayrshire.
There is no official finish this year and some vehicle owners may depart the convoy early..
Organisers of this annual event are the Ayrshire Commercial Vintage Vehicle Club.
Spokesperson Jim Smith said: "This spectacular attraction to Ayrshire and starting from the Robert Burns Campus Car Park on Ayr Road, Cumnock, will again be a major attraction.
"This year it will travel through some of Lanarkshire and Dumfries & Galloway too. There will be over 100 vintage/classic trucks on the run, many of which have been sympathetically restored by their owners."
