An Ayrshire boozer and its punters have raised over £2,000 for a leading cancer charity after taking part in Coastwatch's fifth annual Polar Plunge event.
The Harbour Lights team and some of their patrons took a dip in the icy waters at Irvine Beach on New Year's Day in aid of The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.
A group of around 20 congregated at the Ayrshire beauty spot on Sunday with one of the younger members of staff, Josh, being the first to lead the large.
The team have smashed their original goal of £250, with the online fundraiser generating a whopping £1,495 and an additional £1,000 being raised in-house.
Bartender Kyra Glass said: "This is the first time the team took part in the Polar Plunge.
"We decided to raise funds for the Beatson because someone who is very close to our hearts is going through treatment there at the moment.
"It was a fantastic day, everyone had a great time. It was cold but it was all for a good cause.
"Wee Josh was the first one in on the day, he ran right in.
"We hope to donate the final amount to The Beatson next week and are still welcoming donations in the meantime."
