Ayrshire care at home providers shortlisted for industry 'Oscar' at glittering bash in Birmingham

An Ayrshire couple have had their special blend of award-winning home care recognised by their peers.

Tasnim and Suhail Rehman own ‘Home Instead,’ a company which specialises in caring for older people in South Ayrshire and Kilmarnock.

The care provided ensures that clients can continue living independently in their own homes.

Now, Tasnim and Suhail’s dedication to the older generation has been recognised at the British Franchise Association (bfa), HSBC British Franchise Awards.

In these highly contested nationwide awards, considered to be the ‘Oscars’ in franchising, the couple have been shortlisted for the Best in Class Multi-Unit Leader award, in recognition of their 400-strong team working across seven Scottish territories.

Speaking about being shortlisted, Suhail said: “Nothing makes Tasnim and myself prouder than delivering exceptional home care to our elderly community here in South Ayrshire and Kilmarnock.

“Family is everything to us and this is reflected through every aspect of our business.

“At Home Instead we ensure our clients receive the same level of unwavering care and support from our Care Professionals as they would from their own family members.

“We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for this award and see it as recognition of the great work our team delivers across Scotland.

“Winning this award would be a win not just for us, but for our fabulous local teams and the wonderful elderly clients we care for.”

The awards ceremony will take place on November 24 in Birmingham.

The bfa HSBC British Franchise Awards evening is the flagship event in the franchising calendar.

Suhail will be battling it out against two other entrepreneurs to take home the coveted Best in Class Multi-Unit Leader accolade.

Best In Class Multi-Unit Leader category represents franchisees that have built empires using franchising to demonstrate their passion for business and management, “positively impacting their communities” and providing “great employment opportunities” boosting their economy.

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the British Franchising Association, congratulated the finalists, saying: “Getting this nomination is an achievement and is a demonstration of what franchising can provide for those that have the passion and leadership to build a strong multi-unit business.

“It takes great skills to build a business and these finalists have done that many times over, congratulations to Suhail and his team.”
