Ayr United are prepared to hold out for top dollar on star man Dipo Akinyemi.
Club chiefs have so far knocked back two bids in excess of £150,000 this summer, the Ayrshire Post understands.
Interest to this point from south of the border has fallen short of Ayr's valuation of the striker, who hit 24 goals in a stunning debut season at Somerset Park.
United turned down an offer of up to £250,000 in January and it's understood they are willing to wait for bids that better reflect his performance in the second half of the last campaign, which saw him land Championship Player of the Year and a stack of other individual awards.
Akinyemi is attracting interest from a number of clubs who are keen to lure him back down south in the final year of his deal with the Honest Men. United have entered into talks and are open to doing a deal at the right price, but are adamant they will not be sold short on their talisman having held firm six months ago.
The club have so far added three new faces in the shape of Robbie Mutch, George Stanger and Jamie Murphy and are in advanced talks to land two new signings from south of the border in the coming days.
