Ayr United head coach Lee Bullen tells Tomi Adeloye to stay where he's loved at Somerset Park

Lee Bullen reckons Tomi Adeloye is so loved at Somerset Park he'd be daft to go elsewhere this summer.

The Ayr United head coach faces a fight to keep hold of his top scorer following 14 goals in his debut season.

But Bullen believes another year of hitting the headlines at Somerset can help propel the player to the big time.

Adeloye has been a huge hit with the Honest Men since moving north of the border last year.

Ayr will now bid to keep hold of their talisman after securing their Championship status with last night's 3-1 win over Partick Thistle.

And Bullen believes Adeloye would be best served by flourishing as part of his plans to take Ayr forward.

He said: "Tomi is a handful at this level and we'd love to keep him here.

"I'm sure he will get suitors elsewhere but it's up to us now to try and keep him.

"It will be his decision but sometimes the grass isn't always greener elsewhere.

"When you're wholly adored by a fanbase, that is massive. He won Players' Player of the Year, so that shows what they think of him.

"He's a talented lad and has the ability to go on and have another really good season here.

"After that, he can go on and see what happens in terms of decisions, but we'd certainly love to keep him."

Adeloye was again instrumental in last night's victory, scoring with a first half header and winning both penalties which were converted by Aaron Muirhead.
