Ayr man rushed to Glasgow hospital by air ambulance after huge emergency response

An Ayr man had to airlifted to hospital in Glasgow after an incident sparked a huge emergency response.

Medics including two ambulances and one air ambulance descended on the scene near Kincaidston Drive on Saturday at 4.20pm.

Police also raced to the scene.

The air support landed on a field near to Kincaidston Community Centre and a children's playpark as shocked locals watched on.

The man was then transferred into the chopper which rushed him to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The extent of the injuries sustained by the man has not been disclosed by officials at this time.

An eyewitness told Ayrshire Live: "It was a real shock, everyone was really concerned, they were working on the poor man for some time before he was put into the air ambulance."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 4.20pm on June 24 to attend an incident in Kincaidston, Ayr. Two ambulances and one air ambulance were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
