'Awkward' Gareth Bale dressing room footage emerges as Real Madrid players celebrate in front of Welshman

Footage of Gareth Bale from inside Real Madrid's dressing room following the dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Sevilla has caused a stir in Spain.

Spanish media outlets such as AS have focussed on Bale looking "awkward" and "lost" as the Real players wildly celebrate what could prove to be a decisive victory in the race for the La Liga title.

Bale appeared disconnected from his celebrating team-mates after being an unused substitute in the match. He was also absent from jubilant posed team pictures following the game.

He has made two rare substitute appearances for Madrid in recent weeks, against Chelsea and Getafe, but it remains to be seen how much game time he will get before the season finishes. The Spaniards have six league matches left and are in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The Welshman will finally end his time at the Spanish giants in a matter of weeks when his contract expires. It will bring an end to a turbulent nine-year spell in Madrid, which has turned sour despite the 32-year-old winning a raft of titles, including four Champions Leagues.

He has been subjected to increasing abuse from fans and media in recent years, finally speaking out last month after being labelled a "parasite".

His focus will very much be on leading Wales to this year's World Cup when they face Scotland or Ukraine in a play-off final on June 5 in Cardiff.
