Award-winning Nottingham restaurant creates monster gourmet burger

Nottingham's burger lovers can treat themselves to a gourmet feast, while helping a good cause at the same time. BOHNS Best Burgers have created The Oklahoma, now on sale at the restaurant in Broad Street, Hockley.

The owners of the eatery, named England's best burger bar last year, will be donating £3 from every £12 Oklahoma served to Maggie's in Nottingham. The cancer centre in the grounds of the City Hospital offers free emotional, psychological and financial support to cancer patients and their families.

The burger consists of two smashed beef patties, onion rings, American mustard, melted Swiss and American cheese and homemade burger sauce in a brioche bun. And it's already going down well with customers.

Brothers Thomas and Oliver Bohn, who run the kitchen with Tarvinder Singh Sabi, described Maggie's as an "amazing charity." Oliver said: "We've always wanted to do something for charity. We've spoken to people who have gone through Maggie's and given us an insight.

"It's fantastic how much they do and how much they support people around Nottingham with cancer. We wanted to give something back to such an amazing charity. They are such a lovely group."

"The burger will be on sale for at least six months. On the first day we sold 18 Oklahoma burgers. "
