A restaurant with three AA Rosettes will open in Liverpool this month.
New restaurant 8 will open at 16 Cook Street in Liverpool city centre on April 19. Previously found in Birmingham, the restaurant has been awarded three AA Rosettes, is listed in The Michelin Guide and was named by The Times as one of its top 10 worldwide dining experiences.
It is led by Liverpool-born chef Andy Sheridan, who appeared on Great British Menu in 2018. 8 will bring its AA Rosettes with it to the Liverpool venue.

In February, when the move was announced, Mr Sheridan said: "We’re expanding considerably in 2023, most notably with my return to Liverpool. Birmingham has been good to me, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being part of a great food movement in the Second City.
"That’s where Sam (business partner), I and the team created 8 and where we’ve built a reputation. But Liverpool is my home and when the opportunity arose, we really couldn’t say no. Planning is advanced and we’ll look forward to publishing the opening date in the near future."
Photos shared with the ECHO show the development of the venue, which has a dimly-lit and atmospheric feel in the vein of its former Birmingham site.
The restaurant's website says: "8 can be enjoyed by single diners, couples, or groups of up to 20 people. However, all guests dine together, enjoying the same unique, immersive sensory experience and nostalgic storytelling, which is focused on food, drink and music.
"We could use lots of big words to describe our food. However, to put it plainly, 8’s food is based on simplicity, quality produce, and – most of all – flavour. It’s about evoking childhood memories and nostalgia; there’s no pretence, stuffiness or starched white linen tablecloths.
"8 is not for the faint-hearted, so expect the unexpected."
Bookings for 8 are now open online.
