A much-loved burger and wing restaurant and takeaway is setting up shop in Stockport town centre. Bun and Bones Club are moving from their site in Hazel Grove to the kitchen of Doctor Feelgood - a bar and live music venue on the Market Place.
Having outgrown its current premises, owners of Bun and Bones Club had been on the hunt for a full size unit that they could build a sit-down restaurant in. Fortuitously, Dr Feelgood located in Stockport’s Old Town were looking to rent out their kitchen as they focused more on the live music aspect of their bar.
Taking to social media to announce the news, owners of the takeaway wrote: “As most of our customers are aware we have outgrown our current premises in Hazel Grove. We have spent the last six months on the hunt for a full size unit that we can build a sit down restaurant in.

“This has proven harder than we thought! Our current lease has come to an end and we didn’t want to continue a lease on a place that is too small so we will be taking over the kitchen at Dr Feelgood on Stockport Market Place for the time being.
“We are looking at opening at the start of September. This won’t have much of an effect on takeaway and delivery but me and the team are so excited to be able to offer to eat in again after a two and half year hiatus.
“Keep your eyes peeled on our Instagram and Facebook for the chance to win an invite to the opening night with free food and drink.”
Known for its imaginatively named burgers, wings and fries, The Bun and Bones Club was recently awarded Best Takeaway in the North West by the British Takeaway Awards. Its burgers include a number of specials such as DeVito's Downfall, Big Poppa, and Mount Olympus.
It’s wings, meanwhile, range from mild spice mixes like honey maple mustard to the very hot ‘Infinity’ flavour, while it’s fries can be dusted with paprika salt and topped with options ranging from chilli and pulled pork to grilled onions and parmesan cheese. They also offer a number of sweet specials including Snickers Cream Pie with digestives, peanut caramel and chocolate ganache, and a Lotus biscuit banoffee American pie.
Joseph Patten, founder of Dr Feelgood added: “We agreed to give Bun and Bones residency in Doctor Feelgood's kitchen as we sadly had to close ours due to focusing our efforts entirely on our rotating acts who were getting bigger and bigger. And we wanted to rent our kitchen out to someone who we thought matched our brand, and my first go-to was the incredible Stockport born Bun and Bones.
“It was the right time for them and for us and we think this will add to Stockport's growing food scene massively. It's a huge independent making its way to the heart of the market place and changing the game for eating In Stockport.”
Dr Feelgood, which caused a stir when it opened in July last year with its multi-coloured burgers and crazy hot wings challenge, has not confirmed when the new concept will be fully up and running, but it is expected at some point in the next few weeks. The bar, restaurant and live music venue is the brainchild of Joseph Patten, who since moving to Stockport a few years ago has been building a portfolio of venues including the Cracked Actor on the Underbanks and the Glass Spider on Vernon Street.
