Avengers: Endgame re-release targets all-time box office record

  • Avengers : Endgame is set for a re-release titled Avengers: Endgame Encore in November, featuring new footage designed as a "critical companion story" to the upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday .
  • The re-release aims to reclaim the title of the highest-grossing film of all time, needing to earn an additional $127 million to surpass Avatar, which currently holds the record after its own re-release.
  • Avengers: Endgame Encore will include scenes "set in the Doomsday story" and an exclusive end tag for Infinity Vision, creating a bridge between the two films.
  • Avengers: Doomsday , scheduled for release on 18 December 2026, will see Robert Downey Jr . return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the antagonist Doctor Doom, seven years after his character Iron Man's departure.
  • The forthcoming Doomsday film boasts an extensive ensemble cast, bringing back numerous main MCU superheroes and several X-Men franchise stars, including Sir Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Evans.
