Avatar star says the sci-fi franchise is "unlike Marvel movies" because there are no "outside pressures": "We can take more risks"

Avatar star Sam Worthington says the key difference between his sci-fi franchise and Marvel movies is that James Cameron's Na'vi epics aren't bound by outside pressures, which enables more risk-taking.

"We’re unlike Marvel movies, in the sense of… it feels like an independent movie when we make it," Worthington, who plays human-turned-Na'vi Jake Sully, said in a new interview with The Independent.
