He perhaps didn’t exhibit his raw speed too often, but Felipe Nasr’s partnership with Porsche Penske Motorsports and Dane Cameron led to a well-earned third IMSA title. The Brazilian was a model of consistency, and fast when he needed to be.
Highlights included two wins – holding off Tom Blomqvist’s Cadillac in the thrilling final stages at Daytona and duelling Renger van der Zande at Watkins Glen – as well as an opportunistic two-in-one pass at Detroit to snag fourth after an earlier puncture.
He also showed his versatility in a post-season IndyCar test.
