A regular in the Autosport Top 50 down the years, the elder Vanthoor sibling reasserted his claim to be one of the world’s top sportscar drivers.
He impressed again at the wheel of Porsche’s 963 LMDh – it should be pointed out that this was only his second full season of prototype racing – and was rewarded with a world title.

But the Belgian also reminded us of his talents in the GT ranks, where he cut his sportscar teeth. A first win at the Bathurst 12 Hour at the start of the year was a nice addition to his already long list of achievements.
