CUDDALORE: An auto driver was arrested on charges of trespassing into his neighbour's house, gagging a sleeping 18-year-old woman, overpowering her, and raping her on Friday morning at a village near Kattumannarkoil in Cuddalore district.
The 23-year-old auto driver, was drunk, police said. He attacked the young woman with a knife, inflicting bleeding injuries on her left hand after threatening her and asking her not to talk about the incident to anyone. The girl raised an alarm and her grandmother, who was also sleeping in the house, woke up and managed to secure the man after overpowering him.
