MANGALURU: Ullal police arrested an auto driver on Tuesday on charges of sexually harassing a woman passenger who was travelling in his auto in Ullal police station limits.
City police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that the accused Sameer 22, is a resident of Munnur. He is accused of indecently behaving with the woman passenger when she was travelling in his autorickshaw at 7am on Monday. He had reportedly passed lewd comments at the woman.
When the victim informed her son, the latter had Sameer, who in turn had abused him and also issued a threat.
When the incident was brought to the notice of Sameer’s brother Rameez, he too had allegedly issued a threat to him, he said.
