Australian veteran stands firm for Spanish shut-out

Mat Ryan Australia Cologne Levante Bundesliga

Australia captain Mat Ryan has produced a sparkling performance to secure his first clean sheet of the season and get his club Levante off the mark in La Liga.

Ryan, who lost his place as national No.1 to Patrick Beach at the World Cup, made seven saves as hosts Osasuna pounded his goal in Pamplona.

They were, however, unable to beat the veteran who made key saves at either end of the first half.
