An Australian homeowner’s long-running dispute over invasive bamboo has ended with a court order for coordinated removal and a payment of A$6,253.50 toward treatment and likely repairs. In Wines v Homes NSW, the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales found that bamboo growing principally on a neighbouring property had spread beneath the boundary fence, previously blocked the homeowner’s terracotta sewer line, and was likely to cause further blockage and fence problems. Case Law Wire reports that Acting Commissioner Austin delivered the decision on September 29, 2026.
