NEW DELHI: Steve Smith is looking forward to beginning a new Ashes series at Edgbaston, which holds a special place in his memories. He considers his performance in the previous Ashes Test at the venue to be the most enjoyable of his 97 Tests for Australia.

In 2019, Smith and his teammate David Warner faced a hostile crowd at Edgbaston, with the Birmingham spectators booing and jeering at them due to their involvement in a ball-tampering scandal.
