Australia and Jordan have agreed to strengthen defence ties and work towards peace in the Middle East during a leader's meeting at Parliament House.

King Abdullah II of Jordan has met with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to reaffirm a joint declaration signed 10 years ago during the monarch's last visit to Australia.
