Australian cricketer Jack Edwards took a brilliant caught and bowled chance for New South Wales in their recent Sheffield Shield clash with Western Australia.
Edwards pulled off a stunning low catch off his own bowling to dismiss the dangerous Josh Philippe for 32. After Philippe got a leading edge, Edwards dived forward and took the catch, doing a forward roll in the process.
"Oh that's a magnificent caught and bowled, fantastic stuff from Jack Edwards. He's about 6'6" and he got down right around the ankles to pull off one of the great caught and bowled's that we've seen in the Sheffield Shield this summer.
"That's gone so low, that is incredible. We've seen some fantastic catches this summer but have a look at that!"
The wicket was Edwards' third in the innings, with the 21-year-old finishing with figures of 3-58. Western Australia ultimately declared on 356-6 in their first innings, with former Australia opener Cameron Bancroft scoring a hundred.
In response, New South Wales were bowled out for 208, Jason Sangha and tail-ender Chris Tremain the only players to pass fifty. New South Wales narrowly avoided the follow-on, forcing Western Australia to bat again.
However, with day two ruined by persistent rain, there was not enough time left in the match for Western Australia to force a result as the game ended in a draw. Reflecting on the result, Western Australia coach Adam Voges said: "The one advantage of only bowling once is that you don't put a huge workload into your bowling group.
"With such a short turnaround hopefully everyone is fit and firing for next week. It is a simple equation for us, we need to win next week and if we do that we can hopefully host the Shield final so clearly we have plenty to play for.
"It has been a long summer for us, we have spent a lot of time over east and to get back in front of our family and fans [so] we have that incentive of getting a home final."
