Aussie royal superfan spent £3,500 on plane ticket to London to mourn Queen's death

An Australian royal superfan has spent $6,000 (£3,500) on a plane ticket to London to pay his respects to the Queen.

Darren Martin, from Bendigo, Victoria, is due to arrive in the UK on Thursday (September 15) and stay for five nights.

The 43-year-old said he felt like he lost a member of his own family when news of the monarch's death was announced two days ago.
