Aussie cyclist who got away returns to Perth in style

Matt Richardson has returned home to the Perth track where he forged his name as an Australian Olympic cycling track star - only to now roar to World Cup gold in the colours of Great Britain.

The English-born sprint ace caused shockwaves straight after the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he won two silvers and a bronze, when he decided to abandon the Aussie track program that had helped turn him into one of the world's best and throw in his lot instead with the nation of his birth.
