Aubameyang and Zaha sign, Frenkie de Jong u-turn – Chelsea's dream transfer deadline day

It's that time yet again. It's transfer deadline day, where anything can happen. For Chelsea, they need anything to happen.

The Blues have completed a flurry of signings already this summer and have spent way in excess of £200million while doing so. Now, though, Todd Boehly needs to put the finishing touches to his plans and ensure Chelsea have a positive – and busy – end to the transfer window.

So, with that being said, football.london takes a look at what we (of course, it's open to interpretation) would consider to be a dream transfer deadline day for Chelsea.

Sign Aubameyang

Chelsea have been locked in talks with Barcelona for weeks over a deal to sign Aubameyang. However, there's yet to be a breakthrough over a fee for the striker or personal terms.

football.london understands the 33-year-old wants a three-year contract if he was to move to Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea have floated the prospect of two years with an optional 12 months. Reports from Wednesday claimed that the Blues are now also considering a loan move for the former Arsenal captain instead.

Sign Zaha

football.london were told earlier in the week that signing Zaha at this stage of the window was viewed as unlikely. That remains the case, but if Chelsea were to somehow twist Crystal Palace's arm, then it could be a very smart piece of business.

It's no secret that Thomas Tuchel wants another wide attacker to add to his squad. Zaha is someone who needs to prove himself at the top after a failed stint at Manchester United and is said to be keen on moving to Chelsea.

Sign De Jong

Everything right now is pointing towards De Jong staying at Barcelona. He has given no indication he wants to leave the Nou Camp this summer despite strong interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

If there was any sort of way Chelsea could convince the Netherlands international to move on, then it would be a major coup for the Blues, who are somewhat lacking in the centre of midfield at the moment.
