Davidson played a key role in negotiating deals to keep Daniels and McDougal quiet about their alleged encounters with Trump.
In a 2018 interview, Davidson revealed that he had multiple discussions with Michael Cohen regarding the two women. He recalled contacting Cohen in late summer 2016 to notify him about settling a case with McDougal. McDougal had sold the rights to her story to American Media Inc., the parent company of the National Enquirer, for $150,000 plus additional benefits. Davidson described informing Cohen of the agreement as a professional courtesy.
